OMR and ICR Forms

Don’t be tied to your omr machine provider! At A1 we produce OMR AND ICR forms compatible with all the current readers in the market today. All the inks we use are specially formulated DROP OUT inks and we print on a material that has been specially developed to give optimum reader performance.

OMR Forms
OMR (optical mark recognition) is the technology of electronically extracting intended data from marked fields, such as checkboxes and fill-in fields, on printed forms. OMR technology scans a printed form and reads predefined positions and records where marks are made on the form.

ICR Forms
Intelligent character recognition (ICR) is an advanced form of OCR, that enables manually entered text characters to be translated into machine-readable characters.

A1 produces millions of these forms and our attentiveness to quality and accuracy has contributed to reducing error rates considerably for our customers.

Examination Printing Solutions

One of the most common applications for OMR printing is the use of multiple choice test sheets used by schools, colleges and universities. The student indicates the answer on the test by filling in the corresponding field, and the form is fed through an optical mark reader, a device that scans the document and reads the data from the marked fields. The error rate for OMR forms is less than 1%.

OMR and ICR forms technology is useful for applications in which large numbers of hand-filled forms need to be processed quickly and with great accuracy, such as:

  • Examination printing
  • Answer Papers
  • Surveys
  • Reply cards
  • Questionnaires
  • Ballots
